Hi all, picked up a 70 CB 175 to add to the stable for the princely sum of $50,with the title and 4000 miles. Just found this place, and it looks like it'll be a big help. Live in Kenosha,WI-about 25 miles south of Milwaukee on Lake Michigan. Also have a KZ400,and a KZ 750 4. Not really doing to much to this one except getting her running, some new headlight mounts, signals, and clubmans. It was down on the right side and dented the tank, busted up the petcock, tweaked the headlight mount, and bars, and screwed uo the right side exhaust. Already have all the parts(scored a NOS right side exhaust on that huge Sullivan auction for $75). But all in all the bike is in real nice shape overall. Still need to find a couple of odds and ends however-a front gas tank rubber for sure, and maybe the left hand side footpeg and muffler mounts if I can't straighten 'em. They are just a little tweaked. Just wanted to say hello, and let's see if I can post up a couple of pics.

welcome to the site!

I was just in kenosha accidentally two weeks ago. I was going from the Airport Milwaukee to Whitewater. GPS took me on a interesting route that time.

Hey-the pics worked :D So here's a few more. I whipped up some brackets to lowed down the gauges, got the bars on,and started polishing. I'm way further along than these pics, but I keep forgetting to pick up some batteries for the ancient camera. BTW,as it stands right now,on the center stand, the highest point on the bike is 36.25 inches tall-my KZ400 dwarfs it LOL

I don't know if it is worth opening up a build thread,as it is almost done, and I really didn't take any pics along the way. But I did drag it out of the garage and snapped a bunch of pics today to see what I've got so far. So far-so good. Still have to clean up the carbs-looks to be a simple task,as there ain't much to them  ,wait for my stainless allens for the engine and button that up,wire in some different signals, and fix up the paint damage on the tank. To cover that dent I got some tank pads-ghetto,I know, but the rest of the paint is in great shape, and don't really want to mess with it. They look good on there also. The more pics the better-okay.

It looks pretty good. Did you pull the motor apart to paint it or just pull it from the frame?

That headlight looks familiar. The CB450 shell is the same one and breaks in the same spot.
