The l/h font fork cap on my 1967 CB77 holds a chromed mounting plate (see photos), and I don't know what it's original intended use was. I have seen this mounting plate in photos of other CB77/72 bikes from this era, so I think it's an original part. I can't see reference to it in the handbook, but my book might be for earlier models. Any ideas?

Not a mounting plate at all, it's the earliest form of helmet holder. You slipped the strap through the slot and then through the D rings.

Ah! That's interesting. Later bikes had a helmet lock integrated into the lockable seat.

Here's another mystery you people might be able to help with: On either side of the rear of my CB77's frame there are strong lugs (in centre of photo) and the only purpose I can think of is for mounting a rear luggage carrier, or side panniers. Was there an aftermarket kit to mount on these?

Hello, Looks like turn signal mounts to me. Would need a specific rubber insert and turn signal. Where was bike originally sold. Some models had items for specific markets, (countries). John
