I forgot the joys of getting a 48 year old bike that was not taken care of back on the road.
There most certainly are joys in getting an old bike going again... anyone who has drained old, nasty fork oil even once knows that the joy in that is in the disposal of it and the rinsing of the drain pan afterward - along with fully opening the garage to air out, regardless of the weather!

Yep - I can smell it just looking at the picture...ha ha. Twenty year old gas has a special smell, too.

At first glance I thought you were sharing an in-progress baking photo. It looked like batter in a cake pan!

That stuff smells terrible. Drained two sets of forks recently, one side came out clear for a few seconds, thought someone had filled them with water!

The smell of the old fork oil, the jets broken off in the carbs, steering head bearings shot (just to name a few of the many)...... ah the joys ;)
