I have a bad crack in my rs muffler where it connects to the header. Of course it's causing a noisy exhaust leak. Any fixes for this? The crack extends about 1/2" beyond the header. Any tips on where I can get a good set at a reasonable price? Thanks

If you do as Steve mentioned you're gonna have to drill a hole at the end of the crack. That's the ONLY way to keep that crack from spreading. You can fill the hole afterwards but otherwise the crack will continue to grow.

Chris -

You could probably get a good welder (not me) to fix it - but it won't be pretty.

Nothing about these bikes is "reasonably priced", surprised you haven't learned that by now....

I have the 450 mufflers you saw in my garage - not sure if you really checked them out or not. A little surface rust and staining on the inside like they all get - a couple of dings/scrapes.
Generally pretty good, and very solid, no pinholes or major rust at all, no rattling or anything.
I was going to use them on my bike, when I was thinking Restoration.
I had to pay $100, but that included headers and shipping - email me if you're interested, we'll work something out.

Or you could just get some nice shiny new Emgo RoadHawks - about $100 for a pair, 10-minute bolt-up. Won't even have to re-jet, most likely.
Their Dunstalls look nice, but i don't think they'll work on the 450's 1-3/4" pipes.....

Mmmmmmmm - shiny ..... (best Homer voice).

How about these? I like the looks of them. Will they fit?
They'll probably bolt up, but they're gonna be louder than hell, count on it.
That's a pretty good price, especially with free shipping.
Check out all the Emgos at http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/Index_Main_Frame.htm

They're all about the same price - they have some shorty megaphones you may like......

Did these greatly improve my performance, or am I imagining it? Wow!
That's possible.
Put on some foam filters and notice another increase.
Watch your plugs for color, you probably won't even have to rejet.

Did you have any problems with leaks at the muffler/exhaust pipe interface???
