My clutch cable was difficult to pull in, due to it being as old as the bike, so i came up with an idea to lubricate it using white lithium grease, although im sure there are other alternative lubricants out there that would also work.

When you are spraying the lubricant into the cable, hold the can vertical, then rotate it 90 degrees to a horizontal position. This will force the propellants, say air, for sake of argument, into the cable which will then help push the lubricant further down the inside of the cable.

Rotate the can back to the horizontal position to spray the lubricant, then back 90 degrees to horizontal, so the air can push the grease into the cable.
This worked great for me, it may already be a well known trick, but just in case its not known.
Thanks for looking
