I knew they existed in the 60's because I'd seen them on race cars but here's the history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_end_bearingIf the joints were replaced with heim joints it would last longer and have a tighter feel, but Honda didn't do that then (if heim joints even existed then, not sure)
Nice - always wondered, and wouldn't have thought it began in Nazi Germany.
