I have a 1971 CL450 that a friend modified into a rigid bobber.

The bike has the stock Keihin Carbs on it and the left Carb is giving me FITS!

I have rebuilt them 3 times myself!

My buddy thinks we should be new Mikunis. I am not sure.

So, I measured the Keihins on the intake side (50mm) and side that connects to to the boot (43mm). These are outside dimensions.

Anyone have any ideas?

First, carbs are sized by venturi size, not physical (outside) size..... Secondly, the 450 carbs are finicky only in that they must be scrupulously clean...Assuming you have cleaned all three jets in each carb and they pass the "straw" test, the problem MAY not be the carbs..... What are your compression readings?

Jason ...Please re-assign to Q & A.... I can split, but not sure how to do that... Steve
