Hey every body,
Thought I would throw this out there, Does anybody have or know where I can get the kick start for 1981 cb125s? Its the last part I need for it to start!! (LITTERALLY!)

Here is a picture from when I found her... I will put up some more pics when we complete it!

I may have one that would work... I'll need an outside measurement on the splined section of the shaft.....I believe the early 175's used the same "splines" and I have an extra one of those.... Steve

I'm thinking that virtually ANY Honda 80/100/125 cc SOHC motorcycle motor from 1969 thru about 2008 will fit on the splines.

The only trouble would be whether it would clear the exhaust as it swings.

ebay or your local salvage yard.

I believed (NOT SURE) that two different shaft sizes were used over the course of production....That's why the measurement.....I'd accept Kirk's judgement on this one, He's in the midst of actually working on one...... :D Steve

I had a CB125s once. A 74 model I think. Got it for $40 with title. It was probably the toughest bike I've ever owned. I once lowsided it at 45mph going down a very steep hill (bald rear tire), then slid about 75 yards. Threw a knobbie on the rear from a KX80 front and went. You could rev it to redline and beyond, and she just kept on taking it.. I tried to blow it up by riding it to death but could'nt. It finally took a two up ride that consisted of around 550-600lbs to kill her. Poor ol' girl...

I still go see her every now and then, resting quietly in the corner of a friends old shed.

They make GREAT mushroom hunting bikes for the woods!!!

Yeah, I came across it 3 ~ 4 years ago trolling around the 'net. Great little cafe. Not really extreme, as some builds can be. Very nice. And a tiny little thing, too. Somehow, the thought of a cafe'd SOHC 750 just seems too massive to me. One of the reasons I sold my '78 750 - just too big for 'everyday' use.

...aw, they don' scare me none, either

But, for me, it was kinda like commuting down to the corner grocery store in a Lincoln Town Car, or a F250 dually - you can do it, but it may not be the best choice out there. :D

But, it sure was nice, two-up for a half-day ride thru the countryside. It just seems I hardly ever do that.

Ahh.. I know. I've been derailed on my own 125 by the Hodaka project. Like a pendulum, I seem to swing from one to the other to house projects and back again, over and over... :)
