Need to find a more cooperative locksmith maybe?
I have taken ignition switches to our local locksmith and had keys made to fit. I have also just taken the key code # and had keys made as well.
Is there a number on the lock cylinder? Dealer can do it too.

My local locksmith had to dig around in his backstock to actually find an acceptable key blank, but in the end he was able to copy the key with no problems. You may have to find a locksmith that's been in the business for several decades. Additionally there are people on Ebay that have large amounts of keys for sale. Send them a question with your key number.

EDIT: I see he's already pointed you in the right direction.. ;)

Yes!...$5 buck and a number seems great.

I don't know what happen to my reply in case this is duplicated but...

I went to an very old locksmith and when I handed him the key he's like "where did this come from?!"...he only had stock that was close but no cigar.

Outside his shop when I pulled up was an old BMW motorcycle...'76 (inline 4?..r something)...talked to the owner for awhile...nice guy, ya' know, for a BMW guy....j/k. My hopes were up when I saw the bike about being in the right place but no luck.

..think I will do the internet thing...or try at least...will let you peeps know how it goes.
