Steve Sprint just sent me an email and I figured an update was necessary.

MSN site:

MSN shut us down two or three days prior to when they said they were going to. I was trying to get everything moved to another host when it came down. I had two web developers consulting. I worry that one of them may have pulled the plug on us somehow but it's too late for that.

Thanks to Ted, he saved all of the technical dialogue, and I now have that disk that can be put to good use. When that is going to materialize is unknown. I have a lot on my plate and it looks like the HondaTwins.net site is a fine sequel to the MSN group.

Fire:

Yesterday sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 10:13 a.m. there was a very bad fire in my garage which I had been renting from a neighbor. It was 2.5 cars wide, double deep with a 2nd floor and was really a great home since moving out of my warehouse space. I had a bunch of bikes in there including all of my DOHC Hondas. I am waiting for Village inspectors to come and allow the insurance adjusters to get in to have a look. Right now the garage is standing but everything is damaged inside either charred or melted. Some will be partially salvageable but there is alot of work to do.

I still have two bikes to ride that were not in the garage. Strangely both are 1971s. One BSA A65T Thunderbolt and one CB500-4 SOHC.

Jordan,

Sorry to hear about the fire. Hopefully you've had a chance to sort things out and it's not as bad as it could be.

If I lost any of my bikes in a fire, I would be heartbroken.

I agree that this site is a great alternative to the original MSN groups site. Bill's doing a fantastic job as moderator and the information flow continues.

Good luck.

Don't forget about Steve too, Kudo's to both these guys for passing along years and years of hands on work with these bike and asking for little in return except that others share what they know and learn from their experiences as well.

It's a magnanimous gesture on both their parts and I'm humbled by their generosity and patience. In effect, they have taken on the unrequested and thankless roll of teachers and educators. Many people make a living doing what they do for free.

Thanks to both of you and all the others (Birdman, JohnnyC, Krukster, NE350, Leethal and more) who offer up their help and assistance.

Sorry to hear about the fire. Just glad noone got hurt and that you are ok. I have lost bikes to accidents but never fire. Do they know the cause yet? This is something that could happen to any of us. I think if I looked out and saw my garage on fire I would end up getting hurt trying to put it out myself. My Wife would be the smart one and call the Fire Department and they would see an idiot with a garden hose or maybe with rugs beating at the flames.

Ah, if only it could be so.....

No one ever thinks about how devastating a home fire can be until it happens to them.
Let's hope the insurance comany treats you right, Jordan, and be thankful no one was hurt......

Thanks for updating us Jordan. It's good to hear from you even though with the setback news re the fire. Many of us, I'm sure look forward to future interaction with you in more upbeat circumstances and situations. We owe ya bud.... Many thanks and best wishes. As you certainly know better than most it's quality people participating that make these things work and be of value to all. Sure hope that you know we're grateful and feel most welcome.

Yes.....there are those here who think we should have Ted, Steve and both Bills bronzed but just so you know the pot's pretty big and has plenty of room for one more.....you! Best, Blue
