Remember, this is NOT a mimic, just more informative.
I am Bill, I've been married for 37 years. Not much on changing things, unless they need to be changed. Been into motorcycles since I could walk and maybe even before that. My Granddad started a motorcycle shop back in 1932, my Dad joined him after he quit school in Junior High, I came along in 1947. My first licensable motorcycle was a 58' Jawa 125 motorcycle that was completely assembled from parts by me when I was 14 years old (I was in Junior High School, when I asked my Dad for a motorcycle and he told me it was upstairs at my Granddad's motorcycle shop and it was, it was in pieces and I had to take a parts book, find ALL those pieces and put it all together to have my motorcycle). I went in the USAF in 66', went to Misawa AFB Dec 67', bought myself a 66' Honda CB72 (250cc) Hawk (built it to outrun a 305 Super Hawk, Came back to the States for my last base assignment. My Granddad died in Dec 68' and, if I could have saved some money up, my Dad was going to try to work with me to save the motorcycle shop (my Dad had gotten a Civil Service job before that). That shop would have been 78yrs old, if we could have kept it going til now. (it had a 36yr run with only 2 people employed and they were my Granddad and my Dad) During the time frame that the motorcycle shop was open, the following franchises were were gotten: Indian, Vincent, Norton, Matchless, AJS, Royal Enfield, BSA, Parilla, & Jawa/CZ/ESO. I've worked on Jet Acft (F4C Phantoms and F106 Delta Darts), put short blocks together at an engine rebuilder, worked on VW's at a dealership, spent 23yrs working on and inspecting Army equipment (Civil Service mechanic & then Inspector) and 28 yrs total military time (USAF and USAR/mechanic and then Motor Sgt at 4 different units over the years) Now, retired from Federal Civil Service and Military and working with "Special Needs" folks (of which my 30 yr old Daughter is one).
Just trying to make a difference in the lives of others.
Good Luck, Bill
BTW, I hope that no one even thought that I was trying to outdo anyone or anything of that nature, because that would be so untrue.
One thing I AM guilty of is that, when I get to talking, I kinda forget to stop, cause I've got so much to tell and I'm not too good at putting it into words. Okay, I'll hush for now
