SJ....One minor correction..... The regulator does NOT deliver a specific or constant voltage,(the anount is determined by the engines rev rate) it only shunts (grounds out ) any excess (over voltage limits) before it gets to/or can harm the battery...... Steve....

What could be killing my fuse when I turn my key on?
It happens as soon as I turn my key on my cb200 that I just got.

hey i'm new to these Honda twins. I'm trying to find a new reg/rectifier unit to work on the bike. It's not charging and the stator is putting out numbers in spec. It has a reg/rec on it from some other bike
What should I be looking for, what won't work?

I was looking at a universal 5 wire unit from a bike shop the other day, but I don't know enough about them. does it matter if its a full wave rectifier or half wave?


any help would be appreciated

The stock unit is a full wave bridge rectifier (four diodes)..... Your alternater output is two-phase....Some "combined" reg/rect units are designed for three phase outputs and don't work properly on a two-phase system....
