Tried to take off the valve inspection covers, ended up stripping the cover, any ideas?

You try a 17mm 6 point socket?

I use a chisel and hammer to cut a notch and in the edge of the cap and then tap it free. Vice grips will also work. A new cap is needed in both cases.

Yep ended up taking a chisel to 3 of 4 of them, thanks for the advice
