Anyone else dumb enough to decide that fabricating up custom mounts for an 8” Hella Rallye 4000 light would be a fun project? I wanted to give my bike a big, beefy front headlight statement, so after some online research, I settled on the Hella Rallye 4000. It took some work to make it fit and look the way I wanted, but I finally got it on. Still have much to do since removing the original headlight and the big elephant-ear chrome brackets to get it all dialed in, but here’s some pics. With and without stone guard. #metal

If I knew math formula, I coulda been an EE contender. So you more or less have to use ohm's law to do the calc of; brake light on, times battery draw, divided by the stator output or explained another way, beer says it went back to stock.

That's a hella load is about to get dark and stranded.

This thread is a bit dated, but interesting. Looked up the specifics, 12V-100W for just the headlight. i‘m not aware of any vintage electrical system that could meet the 100 watt demand. Looks cool though.
