I recently got my 1981 CM200 running and replaced the incorrect 12V electrical parts (rectifier, bulbs, and flasher unit) with 6V parts. I was very happy to see that the turn signals are now working, BUT the headlight and brake light flash in unison with the signals.

Anyone know what is going on here? I'm guessing it's a bad ground or no ground. But if anyone has a good place to start, I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

I think you're definitely on the right track! A grounding issue will do this. If the frame has been painted, make sure that the grounding lugs have all the paint chipped off of them before they're attached.
