Has anyone had any issues with their head gasket not fitting right? I have a 71 SL350. I know I have it on the right way (tried other directions hoping it would fit better). My issues is that when I slide the gasket over the dowels, the gasket gets warped. I'm pretty sure I can just file out the holes in the gasket it fits better. Just curious if anyone has heard of this before? I can add some pictures tomorrow the help explain my issue as well. But for now, I'm going to bed...

Excellent! That's just what I wanted to hear, Yendor. I did notice that the fire rings weren't completely centered either. Is there a good way to keep it centered on the piston opening once I adjust the gasket holes?
