I have media blasted, primed and painted the main hub on my CL200 front wheel.
The dang thing looks SWEET!
However, I can't figure out how to remove the spiral-cut speedo drive gear in the brake backing plate.
I have (prematurely) blasted the plate, but now I obviously, need to remove that gear.
I have diligently looked for a circlip or something else that holds the gear in place but can't figure out how to remove it.
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Jim, the seal holds it in (along with the cross screwed cable end), and on some models, there is also a roll pin inserted from inside the plate.... remove the cable (duh) and pull the roll pin IF present, and simply pinch and pull with needle-nose pliers on the drive flat..... Should "pop" out, but comes easier if you remove the inner gear that drives it....(careful, there's a thin thrust washer in there, get it out too....)

I learned all this playing with the speedo drives for the CB 200 disc wheel (and others) on the 90.... Thought you'd appreciate that..... ;) Steve
