I didn't know what kind of cost was involved. I have read a lot of posts from people who had parts done but never a cost. The closest shop to me that does it is about a 6 hour round trip so I'd need to be restoring a Vincent to make the drive worth while.
Anyone interested in investing in a vapour blast/ powder coat facility in the middle of nowhere Ontario? ...Anyone?
It only took me 2 weeks of searching to find a local vapor blasting. Other choices were Seattle, 3.5 hrs north, or Grants Pass OR, 5 hours south. After i found the guy I had to wait 2 weeks until he got his large blast cabinet, he has a small one and recently decide to make a business out of this.
Complete blasting of a 350 engine plus a couple extra pieces was $150.
I have gone a more expensive route and had the pieces CeraKote'd. Satin Aluminum. Turns out that I didn't need to use the Vapor Blasting since to do CeraKote the pieces have to be media blasted with a specific grit for proper adherence. I could have cheated and just had the really bad pieces media blasted. Cost to CeraKote the entire engine? $800 but it is completely impervious to chemicals. This is where it's at today
I had been looking at tools to remove gas tank dents. I read about the kits with a series of shaped rods but really felt the learning curve was going to be pretty steep. Just to much I don't know about metal stressing (including the terminology) and not enough years left to learn all I should...
Hi there, I apologize if this has already been discussed but I wanted to share my experience with using Chem-Dip carburetor cleaner from AutoZone. This can has a basket inside where you put all the parts. Advanced Auto has the Gunk brand which is similar.
I removed all the plastic and rubber...
I got these real nice Chase Harper saddlebags delivered yesterday. They hold 21.2 or over 5 and 1/2 gallons. They drape over your seat, tying to your rear light fixture in back, and to your passenger foot pegs on front.
I had some nylon saddlebags that rubbed against my tires and got small...
I'm trying to prepare for the winter months and I was shopping for a battery charger. Has anyone bought one of these? If not what does everyone use to keep their battery charged in the cold winter months? Besides riding it I mean?
Do many of you ride during the winter months? I am planning to in...
It's been ages since I have posted on here, but I would love opinions on Charlies ignition please.
I have a CB77 in my garage that is pretty much perfect mechanically except for a miss fire under load.
I've owned the bike for about 8 years, but haven't ridden it for about 3 or 4...
