I have a 1970 CB450 K3 the paint work needs touching up, it has a gold painted decal/swoosh on the fuel tank and I can’t find the right colour gold, I’ve googled it with no results, I know you can get sticker type ones on eBay etc, but I’d rather touch up/re-paint the original. Here's a thought, not sure how flat the gold is. But, some paint suppliers can scan colours and provide you with an aerosol. Just the same as BnQ can for house paints. Did this for the scores on my BMW casings when BMW don't sell the actual casing paint.
And if they make you a dull gold paint, then it might be a better match? Or polish the gold with tcut, take the tank in and then scan?
I also would suggest you try one of the motorcycle paint specialists on the Internet as they are always helpful and can provide info. I did this for my Yamaha xt250 and they helped me out. Trying hard to recall the company, unfortunately old age does not come alone!

Cheers, I never even knew there was such a thing as a paint specialist, I wonder if it’s a boring job? Must be like watching paint dry.

I’ll look it up, thanks for the advice.

And another thing....
I photographed my damaged XT logos on my Yamaha, resurrected them in Photoshop and got my local sign maker to print them. Cost £5 for both sides. I shouldn't suggest this but you could also copy the pic of the decals from eBay or anywhere on the web in to Photoshop. Tidy up and send to printer to print new ones out! Not sure about vinyl thickness and if this would be an issue for you?
I lacquered over mine to fix them better. Done this on my CM250, XT250 and my 600 Hornet. You can feel the thicker decal.

Ancient dad, those tanks are impressive!
But does anybody know the answer to the original question, what is the part number or name of the gold?
