Gang:

I'm building a CB175 engine. I know I will need to use Hondabond to put the halves of the lower engine case together. Do I need to use any gasket adhesive when installing the numerous gaskets in the case, or install them without adhesives? If an adhesive should be used, any recommendations about which one to use?

By the way, when using the Hondabond, how wide a bead of adhesive is recommended to join the two halves of the lower case?

Thanks

You don't need much Hondabond....A thin film is sufficient.....
The rest of the gaskets CAN go on dry....Different mechanics opt for different proceedures/have differing opinions and preferences........

I also , like Simo, like grease. I don't like scraping off old gaskets. The grease makes it easier to remove next time.

Hondabond : As thin as possible.....A 3 oz tube, unless your a professional mechanic, will last longer than you......I use a strip of old credit card....thinnest of layers....The cases are well machined and only need a tiny amount of sealant.... Too muc and it squeezes out into the oil....
