I met with my gas tank builder pal yesterday to discuss my ST project tank. we're modifying a KO cl450 tank with knee cutouts. he suggests i find knee pads before we do the final layout... i really like the CD175 knee pad shape but am open to suggestions.

soooooo, im requesting examples! please send me your knee pad photos... i'm looking to purchase! TIA alls, danWI

The CL K0 tank WITH pads is exactly the "D" tank .... I think I still have the rusty one with pads...( if to want to spot-weld on original frames for the pads).... Pix tonight....

Sorry to have raised your hopes..... the "D" tank got crushed and the knee pads disintegrated... I do have some small CL77 shaped pads from an old smaller Kawi I can post pics of, and maybe some extra CL 175/CL160 ones....(like on my "vintage vert")....Steve

Steve, any knee pad shapes will be fine! I'm still in the research stage so I want to see all diff shapes... honda, kawa, harley, bsa,... what have yas! danWI

Dan, The indents on the 160/175 tank are maybe 1/2"....... Here's the Kawi tank pics.......Length of the "flat" bottom of the pads is ~7 & 5/8" (no indent, they project out on top of tank...

$15 plus shipping for the Kawi tank..... (which would give you "frames" to spot weld on)

No problem.... Weighed the tank and it will be more like $25/27 total to Wis.... ( sorry!)

If it would help, I can "scan" the pads next to a "ruler"/scale so you would have exact shape and size .... Kawi ones or 160/175 ones...... Would need your e-mail to get them to you direct..... Steve

Look at the cl90 knee pads. there are a few bikes on ebay you can look at. I have an extra set. They are good looking.
