I am running a 1969 CL450. Is there any issue with using 10% ethanol fuel with these old engines. Up to this point I have been using non ethanol fuel. However it is not always conveniently available.
Ethanol is bad for your fuel-lines and bad for your carb, better not use it at all and if there is no other fuel available, fill up your tank just enough to reach the next fuelstation and fill her there up with ethanol-free fuel, if available.
And, if you have to buy corn gas, and the bike has to sit more than a few days with it in the tank, add something to control the water that will get in, like Seafoam.
Agreed, also alcohol fuel goes bad fast. Run it if you have to but definitely don't store it with gasohol in there. Many stations have one hose for all grades. I will circle and do the math to find the hose that has good gas in it last.
