I was able to get the left side (brake shoe side) bearing out, along the with axle sleeve. I got the seal out of the right side (hub), but there seems to be something impeding the bearing.

This is the best picture that I have, but it still has the seal in place.





I've searched all over this site and have found just a couple of mentions about a retainer for the front wheel bearings. It doesn't show up as a part in the microfiche, but I've also found it for sale on a couple of sites. Completely baffled. Is there a retainer? If so, how does it come out?

Ok, I've looked over all of the microfiches from the drum brake CB's and don't see this retainer on any of them. But I did find it on the CB350F from 1972, which is a disc brake. So I guess that I misunderstood the references and part numbers to be for a CB.

I suppose that I'm looking at part of the seal that I just didn't get out. I have new bearings and seals on the way, so I can compare the old seal to the new one and see if maybe I tore it in half or something.
