Hey gents, quick question,
bike is a 73 cb450 k5
On the pistons there is a mark, that reads "NI" or at least thats what it appears to be. Is this the front?

Also heres a pic of the "quick hone" i did. came out pretty good. the marks arent quite at 45 degree angles, but damn close.

That would be IN, and indicates the intake valve side of the piston (back)... The smaller clearance cut is for the exhaust valve and the "front"

What do you think Bill,
Is he standing on the "wrong" side of the piston, or holding it upside down?....... :lol:

Easy on the south jersey ahaha i get it all the time at school

so the "NI" or "IN" is the exhaust side. ahhh i see, that makes sense -duh dan

thanks guys im pickin up piston ring pliers now to install the rings. im pumped the motor is going back together...finally.
