:? I trued my wheel and now am ready to put the end caps on the forks of my 350G. What is the best way to tell the caps are on the right sides and oriented correctly? :?:

Thanks,
Larry

On my 68 450, the taller half of the cap goes to the front and gets tightened so it seats with the fork, the gap would be toward the rear. Should be able to see the taller half of the cap, but if unsure place on a flat surface and that will show which half is taller.

That sounds easy enough. What I found on the caps is that one side the top (mating) of each cap has grease or grime on it telling me that it was not flush against the fork surface. Are the '68 450 and the 73 350 the same set up?

Thanks again for your answer,
Larry

That doesn't mean they were installed right by the previous owner.. Hopefully you still verified that you were installing them correctly. Not just the same way that the PO did it..
