I'm not a moderator here or anything close to one. That being said, it would be nice if more members actually filled out their profiles, edited signatures, etc.. It often helps the rest of us out when trying to diagnose problems, search for parts for one another, and the like. It also simplifies the shipping process when we're trying to estimate shipping prices for one another when sending out parts.

I'm sorry if this seems like a rant, as it's not meant that way at all. I have no stake in this site and like a mentioned I'm not a moderator or administrator, just a long time member, retired moderator (because of porn bots) from the old twins site, and fond admirer of the Hondatwins.. :D

Any thoughts or rants that anyone wants to add here are welcomed by me!! :D :D :p This was just a quick thought I had.. If one wants to emain anonymous while here, or has issues with privacy, etc, then that's fine by all means..

I have tried a couple of times to do a better job on my profile. How about some tutoring because I would like to do exactly what you are asking for here but cant seem to figure out how to do it.
I bet there are others out there too......... right???
I feel like the kid in the back of the room that asked the question that everyone else wanted to ask but didnt want to sound stupid.

There is a text link under the HondaTwins.net graphic at the top of each forum page for "User Control Panel" OR you can click: http://www.hondatwins.net/forum/ucp.php

Then you'll see in the left menu the "Options" with several links for managing a lot of your information such as location, signature, profile picture, etc... Click on each item in that "Option" list and you'll be able the add or edit a lot of different information pertaining to your profile and settings.

I really did'nt mean for it to sound like a rant guys. So I'm sorry if anyone has taken it that way. :?

Simple things like location, possibly age, bikes owned, would be plenty. I realize there are probably some members here that just don't want others knowing that kind of info on them, and that's cool.

Instead of having nothing for location, maybe enter something like USA, France, or Central Iowa, etc.. Your exact town name isn't necessary. Age isn't really important I guess either.

Bikes owned could be put into ones signature line like some have already done.

For anyone needing to know just click around after clicking on User Control Panel at the top of the forum.. :D

It is very easy to go in to your "User control panel" and fill in the blanks.
I honetsly believe an accurate location should be placed under an avatar and a signature with your name and bike year & model should be mandatory.

I at least like to know someone's actual name - I hate the nickname thing, strictly high-school crap. I only use one because they make you when you sign up for anything.
Maybe I'm just an Olde Farte...........but anonymity lends little weight to anything people say.

A location would be nice too.

I'm glad some of us are actually in agreement on this. I felt like the odd man out on this until now.

I always sign my name to each post. GB is what EVERYONE knows me as. You could come to my hometown and stop at the gas station, ask where to find GB, and they could give you directions to my house. Real name's Gerald.

I like Bill prefer to know real names when I'm dealing with anyone. Forum/profile names don't matter and are ok in my book as long as your real name is somewhere.

I agree , but it's difficult to force people to do it.

It would be nice to start the trend though!

I may be a moderator, but I'm a rather useless one.. I'm afraid of screwing things up so I don't do jack!

Have you considered putting Randy into your signature line??

Have the REST OF YOU considered doing the same for us? Location helps when searching for parts for other people and when doing shipping quotes. Hint hint.. ;) I often search for parts for others and location does help sometimes.

I don't quite know why I get all uppity about the names and locations thing? However, I do understand if one wishes to remain somewhat anonymous for whatever reason... I and a few others here like to know at least the first name of someone we're speaking to daily. The location thing is just for making transactions, part hunts easier, etc..

Yes Lee, you're so anal you've got skidmarks on your forehead. I'm kiddin ya man!! :p

The name's Gerald Bird ********** Now you see why I go by GB. It's easier and a lot less material for people to make fun of. Plus since the day I was born everyone has always called me GB. My dad just calls me bud. The "Bird" comes from my great grandfather, grandfather, dad, uncle, and now me. ;)

And just so you know in advance, I've heard em all..

Gang Banger
Gangster B*#ch
Gay Boy
Goober
Girly Boy
The list goes on and on. Good for a quick laugh, yes...?

I can understand the name thing, absolutely. I've got that problem, even though my name is fairly simple. Nathan Calabrese. Do you have any idea how many people ask me about being Italian? But the problem is, I'm not really Italian. I'm an American. In regards to my ancestors, well...Spanish, Irish, Italian, Greek, etc. I don't feel any ties to former nationalities if I was born in the USA, my parents were born in the USA, my grandparents were born in the USA, etc, etc. So of course I have a permanent sun tan. What did that get me in high school? A nickname of Paco, *******, and others that I don't need to post here because they are a bit harsh, and just assumed by all that I should be from the "deep south". But there is good to all of it...

I travel to Turkey, they think I'm Turkish. I go to Romania, they think I'm Romanian. I go to Ukraine, they think I'm Ukrainian (only in the south). I go to Greece, they think I'm Greek. Although it was a real pain when I was younger, at this point in my life it makes travel SO incredibly easy. I am literally the LAST one on the street of any country that people will assume as an American, and that is a safety net. (For those of you who've never left the USA, being an American is very, very dangerous).

Sorry if I'm getting off track...just wanted to reply to the last post regarding the name ordeal.

Nice Randy! It's a small detail that makes life a little easier at times, at least for us here.. ;) :D

Interesting story there Nathan. Have the idiots in the airports (TSA) ever harassed you or otherwise done the profiling thing to you? From the picture your story paints in my mind, I could see that happening easily mainly because they're such oppressive/tyrannical a-holes..
