Hi All.

Much thanks to 66sprint for assisting me in getting my brain to think and powering the old CB400 Hawk. It's an 81.

So I had it running. The engine started right up but hadn't been run for unknown number of years. The kick start arm does not return and made a noise until I returned it to vertical. There is another noise though and am wondering what it could be. Valve adjustment? Thanks for any help.

Edit: It's a bit of a testament to the durability of these bikes to actually start on the first kick after years of neglect.

It could be valve adjustment, but it's hard to pinpoint a sound you only get to hear for 3 seconds or so. Might I suggest taking a longer video and uploading it to a free Google photos account, or even to a free YouTube account, then posting the link as above

Cando later this week. The sound is pretty much the "rattle" you hear at the front of the engine. It would be more of that.
