I aced the skills part and did very well on road test. as the guy was telling me i passed i got off bike and kicked the stand -dropped the bike. automatic fail. i managed to catch it so not full drop. what should i check over. i did quick look. kicking myself, cant redo test for 2 weeks.

Damn, I hate when that happens. Look at the shift lever and be sure there's clearance between it and the case cover. That's really about the only thing with a parked drop.

My buddy that has the parts yard has been riding since the 60s and he dropped my 400a in a slow right turn. I dropped a cb350 sitting on the side stand while I was working on it. Stuff happens.
Dont let it bother you just learn from it and go on.

Drop while parking is an auto fail? That is the silliest thing I have ever heard of. That test was written by somebody who knows nothing about riding motorcycles.

RE: Test
The test centre is a joke. In Ontario it is run by a private company not the ministry. First they say show up 30 mins early, I showed up and they were closed. Test started late, We got told by 3 people to move the bikes from one side of building to other. The tester was a dumbass. He asked where my clutch was, I said I don't have one! I drive CM400A. I clipped one cone with heal of my boot, it didn't fall and he failed me on that test. I aced the serpentine test and road test. He was handing me the pass sheet when i dropped the bike. He basically tore paper from my hand and scratched out pass, put fail and wrote dropped bike in comments. I rebooked my test at different centre.

RE:Bike
It fell on left side and i caught it, so fall was not too hard. I checked everything over and all looks good! Driving test booked. Thanks for all the comments and . love these forums!

Everyone drops a bike at some point in time, usually in front of a bunch of friends who will never let you forget it until they do it themselves. If you'd dropped the bike while maneuvering I could see the fail, while parked and dismounting not.

I got my m2! I went in full confidence. I did test in Burlington, Ontario. The guy was older and really cool.

True. My high-point was rolling up outside the school main gate one morning on my new (to me) RD250 as everybody was heading in. Coasted to a halt, basking in the glory of the moment - admiring glances from the girls/envy from the boys (well so I imagined anyway) and then discovered my shoe-lace had got caught in the shift-pedal as the bike and I as a unit just rolled over to the left and fell in a heap to the ground - still in the fully seated position. I can still hear the roars and howls of laughter, many decades later. Don't think I'll ever live that one down ..

Dropped mine as well. Still had those stock wrap around bars that are so awkward to maneuver. Backing down a sloped driveway, it got away from me and down it went. (at the time about 50 yrs riding...lol). Much heavier to lift up a slope too...
