CL250 1972 I've got the two screws out but the two halves of the handgrip do not seem to wish to separate. I'd like to get them apart without breaking it, and replace my throttle cable (I have a new one). What must be done to get them to let loose?

Did you put slack in or disconnect the cable at the carbs?....Once the screws are out, the halves should separate....

I sure did and it doesn’t seem to want to let go

Even without the slack the top half should come up at least a bit (as far as the internal wires will allow). Any pictures of it and where the screws were removed? Maybe just lightly tap it with a rubber mallet to see if it just needs a little incentive to let go, maybe a bit of corrosion glueing them together.

Grounding/locating pin rusted in place?...... Pry gently.....
