I'm a new guy. First post. Trying to rehab a 1970 Honda 450. While running one cylinder will fire, then the other side will fire. Thinking of converting the points to an electronic ignition system. Can this be done without many problems? And, does anyone know where I can buy the parts to complete the conversion? I have changed the points, it runs good for a while then wants to run on one cylinder or the other. I live in Eastern Tennessee, I'm in my senior years, but am mechanically inclined and intend to get this bike back into good working order. Thanks for any assistance.
An electronic ignition is not a magic bullet and will not solve your ignition problem. Get your bike running on points first THEN if you still want to switch to EI you can.
