I'm at the point in my rebuild where I need to hone the cylinder (which is within std. spec), using NOS Honda pistons and rings.
I have a 3-legged hone that I'm reluctant to use; there are new stones on it but I can't remember the grit.
So should I buy new stones or a ball-type flex-hone to use instead?
Would someone confirm if the the correct grit used should be 240 (or 180 or 320)?
Thanks,
Adam

You want to use a coarse stone on these cylinders. The cast iron rings need a good cross hatch to seat. Your hone should do the job just fine.
