Hey guys,

i’m working on some carbs off a project bike for a customer and noticed 2 nipples in the center of the carbs.
These look like they should be connected but are not. Upon removal some fuel came out. My guess is they are for fuel, vacuum or overflow.
i cant seem to find any info on these in the manual/ books.

i hope you can shed some light on this :)

Nice clean carbs there.....

There is a small side hole in those brass stubs that connect air from outside the carb to inside the float bowel, a local atmospheric vent.

Yes, drydreamer is correct. They are atmospheric vents. I have 2 sets of carbs and they both have them. Feel free to check out my before, during and after pics of my 1980 CM400T in my showcase!

And, P.S. Those are Not Phillips Screws! They are JIS (just in case you didn't know)
I used a stainless steel screw set from 4into1.com
