Cm400a front brake pad issue

Bike is a 1980 cm400a hondamatic.
First time dealing with front brakes.
I explain in my attached video to better show issue, but I can't seem to get enough clearance between the new pads in the caliper necessary to slip it back on to the disk. Made sure not to touch the brake levers after taking off caliper.
Likely culprits?

Thanks fellas

The caliper piston is still sticking out. You need to push the piston back in the caliper. Since you removed the caliper....One way to do this is with a 'c' clamp. Remove the caliper and the pads, put one old pad on the inside and none on the outside, place the clamp on the pad and outside of caliper and screw the clamp until the old pad pushes the piston back into the caliper.
Then you can put the new pads on and put the caliper back on the bike. You should loosen the top of your master cylinder to allow the fluid to flow back up in the reservoir.

Success! I didn't have a c clamp that fit the way liked so I used a piece of scrap metal with similar demensions. Thanks!
