I had been troubleshooting my CM for dull lighting and turn signals, checking values of components to the service manual specs, and realized that the red leads from the battery to the rectifier and ignition switch were hot after use. The wires were undersize and couldnt hold up to the amps from the system. I replaced tbe red leads with 14 AWG Anchor wire, and the green ground wire as well. I replaced the fuse holder with an auto style Anchor holder that I mounted to the bike. The holder has 12 AWG leads. I used heat shrink crimp splices, ring tongue terminals. I reused the harness plug terminals, removing the old wires and soldering in the new. I have much brighter lights now and the signals are much brighter as well. I had to replace tbe bulbs from the beginning because most were blown, missing or corroded.
Just want to share the info if anyone else has a 6V CM and wants to get the most out of the system.
