Hi this is Norman from Eastern Iowa, I have a 1982 CM 250 engine I am installing in a 1965 CL-72 . I would like to convert from electronic ign. to a point ign. I noticed that the CM-185 and CM-200 Hondas have a point ignition . Has anyone ever done a swap like this before and what all do I need ? Thank You

ASSUMING (and I DO NOT know) that the taper lengths and angles of the CM 185 and early CM 200 are the same as the CM250's crankshaft, and the left outer engine case cover assemblies are also swap-able, you would need the earlier covers and ALL the components contained there-in ... Alternator stator and rotor, separator plate (for oil splash), points plate with points and condenser, and advance mechanism...NOTE that the 185 and point type 200 were 6V systems, so you'll also need to modify the charging system and get a 12V coil.....Phone 540-525-5199
