Hi Everybody. I have just invested in a new clutch cable and adjusted it as recommended on this forum. Many thanks for information on how to adjust the cable. Easy!

However, the clutch is still very heavy. I know that too many bends will not help. I put the cable back where I found the old one but that does not mean it is right. Can anybody suggest how to check the correct routing of the cable. Thanks.

Down the right side of the frame and cross over under the tank and upper backbone of the frame (then behind the left carb) would give less tight bend at the upper portion than the tighter bend around the left side of the frame neck as in the picture

Thanks ancientdad. You have confirmed what I was thinking (wrong side of the headstock and frame) and made a good suggestion. I will take the tank off again tomorrow and have another go.

Yep, the less bends the better, and as wide and sweeping a curve as space allows to remove as much inner drag as possible is the best
