Ran into another snag this evening, maybe someone can point me in the right direction..

So awhile back I had taken my motor apart. Although I've had my share of setbacks, everything has come together up until this point while reassembling. Tonight I was assembling the camshaft and reattaching the cylinder head cover. The only problem is that when I put the cylinder head cover back on, the camshaft can't rotate without pushing the cover up (the manual says to rotate the camshaft while installing the head cover). Is there any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong?

I can feel and hear something making contact with the head cover when I turn the stator to rotate the camshaft. Thinking that everything might come together when I tightened everything up, I did so and then the stator can't be rotated without considerable effort, and I can still feel the contact. I'm stumped.

And to the pros: I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but I couldn't find anything in the searches.

Thanks,
Dan
