I am looking at picking up a 1975 CL360 with known cam chain tensioner issues.

I found the shop manual update under the 360 bulletin sticky and have been looking for what parts are still available, OEM or otherwise.

So, with this I ask your advice.

If the bike has a non-working tensioner (original or recall replaced) can it be fixed or replaced? Some of the key parts seem to be unobtainable.

Thanks.

Not UNobtainable, just very hard to find. I found a tensioner slipper and retainer set relatively cheap, but still haven't found a cam chain guide yet. There are rumors of aftermarket production or repair, but that's just rumor. Keep looking and be patient, and keep a couple Benjy's handy when you find them.. ;)

Found a local motorcycle scrap-yard that has SEVERAL motors which have been stamped with the Recall marks.

Is anyone interested in used 360 tensioner parts? I will probably grab one for myself, determine how easy it is to strip out the needed parts, and then possible salvage some of the others.

Are most of the "failures" in the tensioners due to just he slipper piece?
