Just purchased a 73 cl350 that had been sitting for a while. It starts great and runs great when cold, but once it heats up it doesn't want to run. Getting ready to replace the points and plugs (they may be original). Anything else I should check on?

Thanks

Maybe test the coils? I heard there are places that can test them under load but decided to replace mine with more modern ones. Supposedly they can operate fine at first but give you trouble once they warm up.

You may want to check the compression, and the valve lash........ Couldn't hurt anyway, and then you'll have eliminated some other possibilities......

Also, clean the carbs . .if it's running rich for some reason it will run poor hot.
I've even seen an engine blubber & 8 stroke from it.
