After months of checking connections and cleaning grounds, Infinally got it to turn over with the starter button. The headlight was on when I tried to start it even though I am pretty sure the light switch is off. Then I hit the turn signal switch and I lost all power. I am guessing there is a short in the turn signal switch but Inwanted to hear from you. Thanks for responding in advance. Btw this bike has been sitting in a barn for a very long time

Possibly you blew the main fuse. If so, a short in the turn signal circuit could be the cause.

I checked the main fuse and it looked good. Then I had to leave so I haven’t checked the switch yet. This is a stupid question but the manual says there is a rear stop switch. What exactly is it and where?

Just looking at the fuse won't tell you if it's good. You need to use either a test light or a multimeter to determine where you are losing power.

I’m checking it right now. I have power past the fuse and power at the ignition but I can’t find power at the headlight.
