I know the sloper stuff won't fit, but will the later (-'69 and newer?) exhausts swap between models? It looks like the heat shields are different. Is there a difference in the head pipes or mufflers? Mounting hardware?
If I have a '72 and find a '69 or '70 or '71 exhaust, will it fit and perform properly?

Yes , mainly, it's all just bolt on
the early k3 (69ish) units have slightly different bracket to hold the muffler in place but it's easy just reposition the bracket that clamps to the frame .

Are there tell-tale signs to make sure I'm not getting a slipper version? Some of the ones I've found online don't have the year listed or are listed as "unknown".
