For all you gear heads out there I need your help, I got this bike a few months ago not running, rebuilt the carbs got a new battery adjusted the valves and put it back together. and it started 3rd kick 5500rpm so after adjusting it down and transporting it, it wont start :(
Now Ive takin apart the carbs again cleaned (just taking precautions) and even tried starting fluid. Im stuck and kinda frustrated because i dont know much about bikes. I have checked the points and they look very clean, Im getting spark to both cylinders.
Any help would be much appreciated in advance
Thanks!

May have valves too tight, points wires could be swapped over, something under tank (usually clutch cable) may be disconnecting something?
We need more information to make any sort of guess.

If you have spark, fuel, and compression, when it rotates it will fire. So you are missing something....The spark needs to be close to the right time, if you added starting fluid, it should of had fuel, and if the valves are correctly adjusted and no stuck rings, you should of had "running".

As CrazyPJ said, check the valve adjustment, recheck the timing, and it should run....If still not, check compression too.....

Engines are like Stock/securities and their returns. Ever hear the disclaimer " Past performance doesn't guarantee future performance" ?? Same with motors....Because it ran in the past, doesn;t mean it will run in the future....

Just got back from tearing apart the carbs and previously i had drained them and plenty of gas came out of the bowl, but this time the carb #1 was bone dry and #2 was full like normal. This would definitely cause a problem :???:

Could just be crap in the line or shut off valve blocking it?

Yeah Pj, when i got the bike the tank inside was full of rust, so i did electrolysis on it and vinegar after coated it with a bath of WD-40 to prevent rust and then washed it out later with gas. It looked almost like a brand new tank inside until i started gettig surface rust again, now I can see the fuel is orange in my clear filters and im determined thats what clogged the in line filters. Whats the best way to derust a tank? Ive been thinking i would try the works toilet bowl cleaner like people online do because of the muratic acid in it.
Any ideas?
Im going to fill the bowls with fuel before i hook up the tank and see if i can get it started that way too.
Thanks again for any comments
