Greetings, I’ve currently got my engine in pieces on the bench to change the piston rings due to low compression. While I’m at this stage I’m wondering if an upgrade is possible. The bike is a cb250g5 1974. I’m thinking I could put on a cb360 block and new pistons but I’m not entirely sure this is possible. Does anyone have that knowledge please? Thanks, Hawksmoor

This has been discussed a few times on the site, google helps with searching on Honda twins but in a nut shell no you cannot directly change things, if I recall correctly the bores in the crank case housing need to be opened up to compensate for the larger sleeves, the head I believe has smaller combustion chambers which would hit on the 360 pistons so you would need a 360 head as well. I forget if the cranks are the same, I believe the wrist pins were either smaller or the rods were longer however its been a while since I have read the threads about it.
