Found that I couldn?t get the throttle to close yesterday when pushing it into the garage (thank god it happened then). I pulled the carbs today, and found that the sync screw mechanism is interfering with the big wheel that the throttle cable hooks into - it grinds along it until it reaches the cutout in the wheel, the clicks and prevents the throttle from returning. On the bench I can compress the throttle return spring enough to get it to release, but any idea what?s out of whack in here to allow that to happen? This is a new phenomenon, I?d just brought it home from a 20 mike ride and no grinding then. Pics below.
(Also, took a look in my factory manual to see if it?s assembled correctly, but the pictures are black and white and too dark to see the details! Grrrr.)
