This has happened twice now. Afte I put the motor together take it for a ride, it gets noisy. Whats the deal?

Please help.

Maybe the bottom push springs are broken.

I think im gonna rebuild yet once again.

Well I popped the valve cover off and again the tensioner was popped out of the bottom damper. So I reset it. Then rotated the engine 90 degrees past tdc and ping it tightened up a bit. Put it back together saturday.

I'm almost done messin with this bike.

Perhaps I should have re-tensioned the thing after I rebuilt the engine. OOPS.

I hope its this easy. I did it this time and heard the "SPROING" sound.

Hopefully you downloaded the tensioner upgrade info that was posted on group....Was your engine "punch-marked" with the upgrade?

What is the upgrade just a material? Cuz i'm thinking if it is i'll just manufacture my own and sell em on ebay.

Go to ...Board index.....technical info.....mechanical issues....360 bulletins....
Replacement (different) parts were involved.....

Remember you won't have punch marks on the engine if it was made after the two recalls.

Hey Dirtbag, i know this is an old old thread, but i'm curious if you ended up needing to rebuild again, or if your tensioner adjustment was able to solve the issue?
