i know an F tank will fit on the K frame, but now i am curious about the flow rate. the petcocks look completely different. does anyone have any experience swapping the petcocks?

I dont think the different valve (Petcock) would make much a difference in gas flow. If it does flow too much just cloce the valve a lil bit so that the opening that lets gas in gets a bit smaller. I highly doubt that the valve will flow less.
If you really want to change the Petcock you would have to check the diameter sizes and thred sizes as well.

Flow rates won't matter in this case. Good, properly adjusted floats and new float needle valves will. If it supplied a 4 cylinder then it'll supply a twin. All Honda petcocks are pretty much the same in their general design. Just slight differences. Mounting patterns, outlets, etc..

That should do it. As long as your splitter doesn't restrict the flow. You might get lucky and find a Honda petcock with two outlets that still fits the tank you wanna run..
