Hi Guys,
I am looking to set my points and have read the timing sticky. At what location is the gap to be set. I noticed that the gap on the Left side stays open at the same height until it hits the flat spot of the lobe. Does this mean gapping anywhere but the flat spot is acceptable. Also after setting both points like this I attempted to statically time the bike. Hooking a test light to the left point and the other end to ground I turned the rotor until I had compression at LF, but the light was on until the past it. I tried rotating the plate but did couldn't get the light to turn on right at this LF. What am I doing wrong? Also, what is the next step once the left side is timed, do I time the right or just check gap?
Thanks

Left point gap is set at its widest open point (tip of the "bump")...... Right gap is only checked to make sure it's within spec after timing is otherwise completed......
