I think cb350g (73'ish maybe) would work. Although you won't hardly get any braking performance. You could swap it for a more modern front end with better discs but that is not easy, but has been done before. Just search cb350g swap.

Not a direct answer to your question, but I'm using the front end off a cb450 k3 on my cb360 build. Bigger tubes and bars. I have the original cb360 front end which has a disk brake. Can get you some measurements if you need them off the tree. Have to believe the bearings and race are the same. Question is length of the tree and where the threads are. Let me know

The disk brake setups from that era were not really an improvement over the drums.

they were a bit easier to maintain with fewer adjustments.

performance wise they are about the same as a well set up drum in the dry and worse in the wet.
later generation disks work much better but requireuch more fabrication to fit

Thanks for all the insight guys. I'm gonna stick with my drum this summer and look into a more modern replacement for this winter.

@outobie - were the same era hydraulic brakes really that bad? What makes there that much worse than newer ones?

The drums are not as bad as you may think
they are just difficult to set up properly And can be expensive to have them put in order

The discs were too thick, not drilled, and made from stainless with low iron content...single piston calipers not ridgidly mounted with inefficient master cylinders

I concur with outobie. I have a complete 360 front end with disk that just doesnt work as well as a drum. I ended up with a CBR600rr front end on my bike. A great place for conversion pieces is cognitomoto.com... He makes GSXR and CBR front end conversion stuff. Kinda pricey but for what you get it is worth it. I dont know your budget but you can always go the GSXR front end with the right Harley hub. Also I will say that modern front ends open up another can of worms in almost every other department on a CB350. Definitely looks cool but cool sometimes doesnt work out to functional, practical, or financially.

FWIW, I agree with Outobie on the stock Hydraulic brake. My CB360 was pitiful, and I bought it when it was a year old. When I restored it, I rebuilt the master cylinder, replaced the lines with stainless, braided lines, and new EBC pads. The rotor was lightly sanded to break the 36 year old glaze. The brakes work far better today then they ever did. I can actually modulate the brakes well and brake right on the edge. Never could do that before.

Well setup drums (Contoured shoes, linkage well equalized) will probably still be better than the disk, but if you set up the disk with better lines, and new pads, the braking is very adequate. It will never be as good as more modern setups, but I was happy that it is now much safer and much more controllable.
