Hello,

I recently purchased a new spring for my center stand after it decided to come down on me (terrifying.) I'll link the exact spring below. I can't for the life of me however get this thing on, it's super tough and near impossible to stretch. I've tried multiple methods and still can't figure it out. My bike has no side stand so i'm forced to use the center stand either way. Anyone have any ideas?

Would a T-hook help that much? Thing seems insanely strong, at least once i get it on i won't have to worry about it coming off.

Product:
Genuine Honda Center Stand Spring - 95014-71702 - CB400F CB550 CB750

thank you,
Jordan

Force a penny or nickel between each spiral of the spring. Once it's full of coins, it should be long enough to fit over the mounts. Remove the coins and you're set good to go.

Thanks for the reply, i'll try to use the coin/shoelace combo and see if it works. I can't really get anything forced in between with just my hands. If I had access to a vice it would probably make this easier.

Cheers,

I have been inserting the coins, have about a quarter way on each side done. I feel like it still won't be enough, but i'll trust in the technique. So once all the coins are in the whole way through it should just slide over both pins without having to stretch while the center stand is up?

That technique works on most springs. Your mileage may vary...;)

If that doesn't work, try attaching the spring on both ends while the centerstand isn't installed and then using the stand as leverage to stretch the spring as you put it in its place on the frame.
