bought this bike last winter in the Netherlands. Almost the same as the german type, only the headlight glass is different.
rode it during the spring/summer and took it apart when it started getting too cold to ride.

all black parts were powdercoated.
the chrome parts are being rechromed (should be done by april, long waiting lists for rechroming in Belguim)
al the nuts, bolts, ... are being zinc plated (should be done by the end of this month)
and I'm still sourcing other parts. got most of them by now
the candy ruby red parts, I'm leavin them as they are for now. maybe get them painted next winter. in candy gold

still working on the engine. had 40000km on it.
bottom end is in pretty good shape. not a lot of work needed.
top end needs new piston rings, camshaft (anyone a good second hand one?), valve rocker arms, and some small parts.

Unfortunately, the CB250 was never a common model here in the US.
It was a bigger seller in Europe, due to the various displacement regulations of the countries over there.
The big seller over here was the CB350, and I don't think the cams, etc. will interchange.

Anyway, nice bike - good luck.......

the camshaft for the cb250 and cb350 is the same.
only difference between the 2 engines is the upper crankcase, crankshaft, cylinder and cylinder head.
OK - I didn't really know, as I've only seen a couple of examples in my whole life, and never actually worked on one.
I can't even seem to find a fiche for your bike...
You should be able to do ok on EBay, except for the shipping charges, of course.

Here are a couple -

I also saw a number of CB/CL250 ring sets of various sizes - you didn't mention what size you need.
But you can always get some oversize rings and file the ends till you get an acceptable ring gap.....

I'm also pretty sure that oversize CB200 rings will do the trick - CB250 is (I think) 56mm, while CB200 (I know for sure) is 55.5 mm - so 2'nd over CB200 rings would be equivalent to standard CB250 rings.

good luck......

Hey jiveass, you done any business with CMS? I just placed my first order with them recently, and as usual I gotta wait for my parcel to reach Earth's backside (thats why its called 'down-under' ya know :D , talk about paper-work  ) They seem very professional and last I checked (UPS track) my oil seals and o-rings were leaving Philidelphia en-route to the 'porcelain state' (ok, enough toilet humour). What sucks is the conversion rates (Euro to AU$). What really sucks is that my local Honda dealer was quoting me slightly more than foreign exchange rate + postage from Europe! :x

that's weird. for parts that are still available I always go to my local dealer. It's cheaper than CMS and the other webstores. and much faster. takes only a day
I've ordered several times from CMS and even though Holland is right next door, it always takes a couple of weeks. too slow for me. but they have parts you can't get anywhere else.

Do you know Econohonda? It's in New Zealand, which is a lot closer to Australia. Ordered from them once without any problem.

Davidsilverspares in England is also good webdealer. and the exchange rate euro/pound is pretty good right now.

Wow, I just had the worst possible experience with them. All of the stock quantities their site listed for the parts I ordered was off, most of it wouldn't ship for over a month, and I wouldn't know how much shipping would be until I went through the bank and found out how much they charged my card. Phil Denton Engineering had most of what I was looking for, at a lower price, and his emails were much friendlier than CMS' vacant female robot support tickets. And canceling my order with them took days of back-and-forth BS. Try Phil Denton or BikeBandit.
